Baby Bedroom Renovation
So I've been calling our smallest bedroom the baby bedroom for years, referencing the size, not the function. Now that baby is on the way, Joel and I decided it was time to clean up the room and make it a baby room in function as well. The room was previously used as the office/guest room, and we decided to make it into the nursery/guest room.
Here's a before shot, after we removed the majority of the furniture:
Our first order of business was scraping the ceiling popcorn off. I've got no idea when beige acoustic popcorn was in, but it certainly isn't anymore. It was quite easy, though hard on Joel's arms. We simply wet the popcorn and then scraped it off. Here's a pic of the progress:
We then primed the walls and ceiling. I joked afterwards that we were done as the room already looked so much cleaner:
Sage green went on the walls and ceiling paint on the ceiling. Here's Joel checking out our paint job (before we finished the edging):
I won't tell you what horrors of carpet cleaning came next, but after a bottle of carpet shampoo and two days of drying, we reassembled the guest bed, built the crib, and unpacked the dresser. We replaced the vertical blinds with drapes and rolled out a cute zebra rug. Here's Romeo modeling the rug and dresser:
Here's the guest bed and the crib, with all our lovely new bedding:
And here's a shot of the entire room. We have since put in a floor lamp and a bookcase, but it gives you a sense of the room:
And here we are, the whole family (so far):
