Going to 24 Hour Fitness Together!
So right now 24 Hour Fitness is having a special - something about adding on another member to your membership for the same price you're paying with no enrollment fees or whatever. Anyhow, this promotion came at an ideal time since Joel is training for the triathlon right now and wanted a membership so he could practice swimming. There are exactly two gyms with indoor pools near us: 24 and LA Fitness. I'm a member of 24 Hour Fitness. So not realizing that this promotion was going on, I walked in and spoke to Joe at the Pasadena 24 Hour, who was more than happy to help. I got Joel an all-club, Supersport membership for the low monthly rate of $19.99 with no contract, no enrollment fees, just first and last month's fees, which I believe anyone will tell you is a fantastic deal for 24 Hour Fitness.
Pasadena 24 Hour's pool is undergoing renovation and is set to reopen on Friday (Joe said they're switching to a saline pool - yay!) so Joel and I went to Glendale's Supersport today. Now here's what I love about Glendale's Supersport:
- Valet parking. I've never done it, but I like the option.
- Towels for your use at the gym. I hate bringing dirty towels home.
- Racquetball courts! I asked Joel if he wanted to pick it up after the triathlon. I think the jury's still out on that one.
- More exclusive. Supersports are generally more expensive which makes it feel more exclusive.
However, once Pasadena 24 Hour's pool opens, we'll probably go more regularly to that one, even though it's only a Sport club, because it's easier to get to, once the pool reopens it'll have a superior pool (I'll take saline over chlorine any day), and, not that I've ever used it, it's got a rock climbing wall. Joel's decided that he needs to go to the gym three times a week, and I think the plan is that we go together. So if you need us, we'll be at the gym.
